BIS FMCS Certification – An Overview

Do you want to export a foreign product to India? If you’re a foreign manufacturer planning to export products to India, you’ll need to obtain a Bureau of Indian Standards FMCS certificate. BIS FMCS certification is part of a program under the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), governed by the BIS Act, 2016 and the BIS (Conformity Assessment) Regulations, 2018.

The main purpose of the Bureau of Indian Standards FMCS certificate is to ensure that products meet the required quality and safety standards, protecting consumers and promoting trade and industry.

To maintain the BIS FMCS certification, factory audits and regular product tests are required. Additionally, the foreign manufacturer must submit a relevant application along with all required documents.
